BOSTON — Estimated system-wide comparable restaurant sales at Cosi, Inc. fell 1.5% during the third quarter of fiscal 2014 compared with the same period a year ago. Meanwhile, company-owned sales decreased 1.9% and franchise sales fell 0.8% from a year ago.

“Management is intensely focused on delivering our strategic plan,” said RJ Dourney, president and chief executive officer. “The good news is we are seeing traction. We are encouraged by the increase in comparative sales we are seeing in the fourth quarter. We are seeing positive comparatives driven by positive traffic while at the same tie we recognize we have much to accomplish.”

Cosi will release full third-quarter fiscal 2014 results in mid-November.
