WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. is launching new Danishes to the lineup. The Danishes are available in two varieties: apple and raspberry. The individually wrapped Danish treats are at grocery stores available nationwide, but not in Krispy Kreme donut shops.

JAMAICA, N.Y. — Garden Lites is rolling out a new frozen aisle addition called Garden Lites Bakes. The first flavor in the line is cheddar broccoli. Bakes contain 250 calories. Garden Lites Bakes are available nationwide in single-serve packages for a suggested retail price of $3.99.

Quest launches protein powder

LOS ANGELES — Quest Nutrition is announcing the introduction of a new protein powder line. The protein powder is an applicable ingredient for everything from cookies to coconut shrimp. Quest protein powder has 21 to 23 grams of protein per serving and is a blend of whey isolate, micellar casein, and milk protein. It is gluten-free and contains 2 grams of sugar or less per serving. Flavors include vanilla milkshake, chocolate milkshake, strawberries and cream, peanut butter, and multipurpose mix.

Al fresco introduces fully cooked chicken patties

CHELSEA, MASS. — Al fresco natural is releasing a line of fully cooked chicken patties. The patties will be available in flavors such as roasted pepper and Asiago, spinach and feta, and charbroiled with sea salt. The patties contain 50% less fat than traditional beef patties. In addition, they are gluten-free and free from artificial ingredients. Al fresco fully cooked chicken patties will be available in early 2015.

Einstein Bros. and Noah’s debut gourmet chicken sandwiches

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Einstein Bros. and Noah’s New York Bagels are partnering to expand lunch offerings. The new menu addition includes Bavarian chicken sandwiches and Napa Valley chicken sandwiches. “These sandwiches feature a new white meat chicken fillet, fresh-baked rolls made from our signature bagel dough, and gourmet toppings that create a truly unique eating experience,” said Glenn Lunde, chief concept officer for Einstein Noah Restaurant Group. The Bavarian chicken sandwich includes a whole chicken breast fillet, beer cheese spread, Applewood bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, honey mustard, and a pretzel roll. The Napa Valley chicken sandwich is made with a whole chicken breast fillet, melted Brie cheese, sweet fig jam, red onion, arugula, garlic aioli, and a fresh-baked potato roll.
