FISHERS, IND. — Diamond Foods, Inc., plans to close its snack manufacturing facility in Fishers, Ind., by the end of January 2013 and layoff approximately 100 employees. The company said the closing is the result of the company’s decision to eliminate less differentiated products in its Emerald snack nuts product line.

Items produced at the Fishers plant include peanuts and the Harmony brand of snacks. Production from the Indiana plant will be transferred to Diamond’s plant in Stockton, Calif., according to the company.
