Frutarom Switzerland Ltd., Health BU, Wädenswil, Switzerland, has joined with Aquanova AG to market NovaSOL Curcumin, a solubilized, highly bioavailable form of curcumin for the dietary supplement and food manufacturing industries. Frutarom Health is working in collaboration with Molecular Health Technologies, its current sales and marketing agent in the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Curcumin, the yellow pigment and primary nutraceutical compound found in turmeric, is used as a coloring agent by the food industry, and as an active phytochemical in nutraceuticals. Curcumin has a broad, scientifically documented spectrum of health benefits due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

NovaSOL Curcumin offers a liquid, clear, yellow solution for use across a variety of applications. As a result, it becomes fully water soluble.

“Bioavailability and correct dosage are important factors for this ingredient,” said Wouter Haazen, product manager for the company’s health business unit. “This unique formula enables our customers’ manufacturers to create highly potent, small-dose products to benefit customers.”
