Vermont Village rolls out BPA-free pouches of applesauce

BARRE, VERMONT — Vermont Village is introducing BPA-free pouches of Vermont kettle-cooked applesauce. The 4-oz pouches will come in unsweetened and mixed berry flavors and deliver one fruit serving. Vermont Village applesauce is gluten-free, kosher, and free of additives or artificial ingredients. The suggested retail price for a single-serve pouch is $1.49-$1.69.

Breyers introduces gelato indulgences

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Breyers is taking frozen indulgences to a new level with the introduction of four new gelato flavors, including vanilla caramel, raspberry cheesecake, tiramisu, and triple chocolate. Each variety features three layers: gelato, sauce and gourmet toppings.

Vanilla caramel contains creamy vanilla gelato, caramel sauce and caramel curls. The raspberry cheesecake variety features cheesecake gelato, raspberry sauce and graham crumble. Mascarpone gelato, espresso sauce, ladyfinger and cocoa combination makes up the tiramisu variety. Triple chocolate includes layers of milk and dark chocolate gelato with white chocolate sauce and chocolate curls.

The products are available at grocery stores nationwide in 28.5-oz tubs for a suggested retail price of $4.49-$5.99.

Kind releases Strong & Kind bars

NEW YORK — Kind Healthy Snacks is announcing the addition of Strong & Kind bars, made with whole almonds, seeds and legumes. Each bar contains all nine essential amino acids and comes in six flavors: honey smoked barbecue, honey mustard, roasted jalapeno, hickory smoked, and Thai sweet chili. Honey smoked barbecue features a smoky and sweet combination with hints of cayenne chili, clove and cinnamon. Mustard seed, chipotle chili, turmeric, and honey combine to create the honey mustard variety.

The hickory smoked bar features a mix of onions, garlic and sea salt, and the Thai sweet chili bar is flavored with ginger, coriander, cinnamon, jalapeno, and basil.

Ehrmann mixes up the Greek yogurt category with two-topping offerings

IRVINE, CALIF. — Ehrmann is expanding its Greek yogurt toppings to let consumers create their own mixes. Mixim Greek yogurt varieties come in dessert flavors with either cherry and chocolate curls or raspberry with dark and white chocolate curls. Tropical combinations include mango pineapple yogurt with coconut and almonds or honey with coconut and almonds. Fruit lovers can choose between strawberries and granola or blackberry pomegranate with granola and dried fruits.

Mixim Greek yogurt flavors are available at retail locations in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Mrs. Freshley's and Hershey announces sweet treats

The Hershey Co. and Mrs. Freshley’s, a business unit of Flowers Foods, have partnered to create two new sweet snacks: peanut butter-flavored Swiss rolls and double chocolate mini donuts.

The peanut butter Swiss rolls are made with Reese’s brand peanut butter, and the chocolate mini donuts feature Hershey’s cocoa. Mrs. Freshley’s Reese’s peanut butter Swiss rolls are chocolate cakes with a peanut butter filling, topped with a chocolate coating and striped with more peanut butter. The double chocolate mini donuts have a soft cake donut consistency topped with a chocolate coating.

Keebler and M&M's debut cookie creations

Kellogg’s Keebler, and M&M’s, a business unit of Mars, Inc., are rolling out three new cookie selections packed with M&M’s. The new lineup includes rainbow chocolate chip mini cookies with mini M&M’s, triple chocolate chip cookies with M&M’s, and rainbow chocolate chip cookies with M&M’s.

Papa Murphy’s rolls out bake-at-home pan pizza

VANCOUVER, WASH. — Papa Murphy’s is making home-baked pan pizza an on-the-go convenience with the new fresh pan pizza. The pizza includes a made-from-scratch butter crust, 100% whole-milk mozzarella, butcher-quality meats and hand-sliced vegetables.  The fresh pan pizza addition is available in thin, original and stuffed varieties.
