MILAN, ITALY — Mondelez International has acquired the Vitasnella brand in Italy for biscuits and snacks from Paris-based Groupe Danone, Stefano Robba, in corporate affairs in Italy and Greece for Mondelez International, confirmed Oct. 8. Danone will keep the Vitasnella brand for dairy products.

“It is a local business,” Mr. Robba said. “However, we think that this deal fits well into the recently announced spin-off and relevant launch of a global snacking company, Mondelez International.”

Mr. Robba did not release details of the acquisition.

Mondelez International, formerly Kraft Foods Inc., completed its spin-off of its North American grocery business on Oct. 1. Mondelez International now comprises the global snacking and food brands of the former Kraft Foods Inc.
