Nassau Candy and J. Sosnick & Son will build on strong presence on West coast.

SAN FRANCISCO — Nassau Candy Distributors, Inc. and J. Sosnick & Son have combined certain operations on the West coast to create Nassau-Sosnick Distribution Co. L.L.C. The new venture will combine Nassau’s operations in Los Angeles and San Francisco with Sosnick’s operation in South San Francisco.

J. Sosnick has been a fixture in the San Francisco confectionery and gourmet food markets since 1906. The company supplies customers across the Western United States with more than 10,000 candy and gourmet food products.

Nassau Candy is North America’s largest specialty confectionery, gourmet food and natural food manufacturer, importer and distributor. The company has six distribution centers located in New York, Florida, Michigan, Texas, and two in California (San Francisco and Los Angeles) and two manufacturing facilities. The company manufactures more than 10,000 products every day, with distribution ranging from the largest retailers in North America and thousands of independent confectionery stores to corporate, food service, grocery and alternative markets customers.

“By combining our efforts, this brings together two great families and years of experience to make one great distributor to the West coast across the candy and specialty food categories,” said Wayne Sosnick, vice-president of sales for J. Sosnick.

“We’re excited to continue to expand the national footprint of Nassau Candy and to strengthen the value of the products and services we deliver to our current and future confectionery and gourmet food customers on the West coast,” said Barry Rosenbaum, president of Nassau Candy.
