WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Agriculture in its Feb. 10 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates made no changes from its January sugar supply and use numbers in either U.S. or Mexican 2014-15 projections or 2013-14 estimates.

U.S. sugar ending stocks were projected at 1,666,000 short tons, raw value, unchanged from January and down 130,000 tons, or 7%, from 1,796,000 tons in 2013-14. The 2014-15 ending stocks-to-use ratio was projected at 13.6% compared with 14.3% in 2013-14.

For Mexico, ending stocks for the current year were forecast at 955,000 tonnes, up 124,000 tonnes, or 15%, from 831,000 tonnes in 2013-14.

Imports by Mexico of high-fructose corn syrup in the October-November 2014 period totaled 229,000 tonnes, dry weight, up 1,000 tonnes from the same period in 2013.
