Davigel is a manufacturer of frozen food products for the food service segment.

VEVEY, SWITZERLAND –—Nestle S.A. has entered into exclusive negotiations to sell its Davigel frozen foods unit to the European food service operator Brakes Group. Davigel is a manufacturer of frozen food products for the food service segment.

This past November Nestle announced its intent to explore the strategic options for Davigel as part of its portfolio review. Financial details were not disclosed and the company said various labor and regulatory approvals were needed before the effort may go forward.

The divestment of Davigel is another chapter in Nestle’s effort to reshape its global product portfolio. Other business units it has sold in the past few years include PowerBar (to Post Holdings), its Mexican ice cream business (Grupo Herdez), Juicy Juice (Brynwood Partners), Joseph’s Pasta (Brynwood Partners), and Jenny Craig (North Castle Partners L.L.C.).
