Company to invest $12 million to add warehousing, maintenance and production space.

LEAVENWORTH, KAS. — Cereal Ingredients Inc., a privately held, employee-owned specialty ingredients manufacturer dedicated to the development, production and support of cereal-related products, is investing $12 million in an expansion of its facilities, according to the Leavenworth County Development Corp.

The company plans to add approximately 81,000 square feet of warehousing, maintenance and production space to the company’s complex in the Gary Carlson Business Park and a minimum of 32 new jobs at the facility, which has been in Leavenworth for more than a decade. Since 2004, Cereal Ingredients has grown to 104 jobs currently and is operating out of two 40,000-square-foot buildings in the business park.

“We are extremely pleased with the cooperation and partnership of the Port Authority, L.C.D.C. and the city since we moved here,” said Bob Hatch, chairman and chief executive officer of CII. “It is a very nurturing environment as evidenced by our continued growth and commitment to the community.”
