Aji peppers, a staple of Peruvian cuisine, are popping up in more mainstream American products. H-E-B Grocery Stores introduced an aji Peruvian yellow pepper topping that may be used as a spread, a dip or pizza topping.
“It has versatility, and you may be more willing to try a new flavor when you know you can use it in a number of different ways,” Ms. Zegler said.
Another product with Peruvian influence comes from Vega. Karmalized Savi Seed is an inchi seed snack coated with raw cane sugar.
