SAN FRANCISCO — The latest launch from Jones Soda Co. is not a soda. Inspired by a popular refresher found in Rome, Lemoncocco is a premium, non-carbonated, blended beverage flavored with extracts of Sicilian lemons and coconut cream with a hint of cane sugar.
“Our version of Lemoncocco is less sweet than that found in Rome and to me is more on trend with evolving tastes of the North American palate,” said Jennifer Cue, chief executive officer of Seattle-based Jones Soda Co. “While this refreshing blend is a natural choice for patrons of Italian restaurants and specialty shops, it is a perfect pairing for any type of lunch or dinner. And since Lemoncocco makes an excellent mixer for cocktails, it is great for happy hour as well.”
Lemoncocco was one of many new beverage products making a splash at the Specialty Food Association’s Winter Fancy Food Show, held Jan. 17-19 in San Francisco. Craft sodas, nut milks, gourmet teas, ready-to-drink soups and functional waters abounded among innovations from the more than 1,400 exhibitors at the event.
