SAN FRANCISCO — Boozy jams, spicy nut butters and indulgent spreads were on display at the Specialty Food Association’s Winter Fancy Food Show, held Jan. 17-19 in San Francisco.

Peppers pop up in more than a few new jellies, adding a spicy and sophisticated twist to the classic PB&J. Debuting from Earl’s Gone Wild, Ventura, Calif., is a line of chili pepper marmalades in such varieties as orange Fresno chili, lime serrano and Meyer lemon habanero. Ghost pepper is paired with peaches in a new preserve from Los Angeles-based Grace&i.

Other new spreads showcased at the event boast locally sourced ingredients, nutritional benefits and adventurous flavor profiles.
