EAST GREENVILLE, PA. — Blommer Chocolate has named two individuals to new roles as vice-president.
James (Jim) Durkin has been named vice-president of operations. Mr. Durkin will oversee four North American manufacturing locations, supply chain operations and engineering.
Mr. Durkin has more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, including executive and operational management positions at Kraft Foods Co. He started his career at Kraft as an electrical engineer and later transitioned into various leadership positions, including plant manager for a bakery division, global head of engineering, and most recently, vice-president of operations for Oscar Mayer.
“Jim is a seasoned leader with strong strategic insight and tactical capabilities in operations,” said Peter Blommer, president of Blommer Chocolate. “His background in implementing continuous improvement methods, focusing on team development, and driving change will allow Jim to lead our efforts to bring best practices to our manufacturing locations. We are very pleased to welcome Jim to our team.”
Steve Blommer has been named to the newly created role of vice-president of business development. He will be responsible for expanding key North American market segments as part of the company’s growth strategy.
Mr. Blommer started his career with Blommer in 1995 and has held positions in sales, marketing and operations management. Most recently he was vice-president of operations.
