MINONG, WIS. — Jack Link’s Protein Snacks has acquired the meat snacks division of Grass Run Farms, a collaboration of family farms dedicated to producing 100% grass-fed beef snacks and fresh meat products. Minong-based Jack Link’s gained trademark and distribution rights to the Grass Run Farms beef snacks, which are sold at select retailers, on-line and on Amazon.

“We know many consumers are seeking out grass-fed, locally and responsibly raised beef, and we’re excited to extend that offering underneath the Jack Link’s Protein Snacks portfolio,” said Troy Link, president and chief executive officer of Jack Link’s Protein Snacks. “Grass Run Farms has built a strong foundation of trust with its consumers, and they can rest assured there will be no changes in how Grass Run Farms beef products are raised and produced.”

The meat snacks include three flavors of beef jerky, three flavors of beef sticks, three flavors of beef bites and summer sausage. The products are gluten-free and contain no added monosodium glutamate (MSG) and no added nitrates/nitrites.

Grass Run Farms, Greeley, Colo., uses beef from cattle that never are given antibiotics or added growth hormones.  Once cattle leave their ranch of origin, Where Food Comes From, Inc., a third-party verification company, verifies the cattle remain in compliance with Grass Run Farms’ production protocols and Beef Quality Assurance animal care and well-being practices.

The Jepsen family of Dorchester, Iowa, founded Grass Run Farms in 2008.
