The Bay Valley plant manufactures private label dressings for TreeHouse Foods.
OAK BROOK, ILL. — Bay Valley Foods, a business unit of TreeHouse Foods, Inc., plans to cease production at its plant in Ayer, Mass., during the first quarter of 2017 and fully close the plant during the third quarter of the year.
The plant employs approximately 100 and manufactures private label dressings. Total costs associated with the closing are expected to be approximately $6.5 million, according to the company.
The company said the decision to close the plant is based on a supply chain analysis. Production from the plant will be moved to other plants within TreeHouse’s existing supply chain.
