SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. — Charlie Ross, former vice-president of DuPont’s proteins business unit, has joined TerraVia (formerly Solazyme, Inc.), as vice-president of global sales.
Mr. Ross has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in food and nutrition, with a particular focus on plant-based proteins. He has been with DuPont since April 2000, first serving as their manager of strategic projects for protein technologies as part of DuPont’s subsidiary Solae L.L.C. Most recently, he was vice-president and global business unit leader for value proteins at DuPont Nutrition & Health.
“Charlie has decades of expertise and a proven track record of driving sales in food and nutrition,” said Mark Brooks, senior vice-president for food and ingredients at TerraVia. “He understands how our innovative ingredients can address key markets and the growing demand for plant-based foods and nutrition.”
