KANSAS CITY — Hotter days are on their way, and with them a slew of new frozen beverages on menus to help consumers beat the heat.
Offering a new way to cool off with coffee, Starbucks is introducing the Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino. Made with waffle cone syrup and dark caramel sauce blended with coffee, milk and ice, the beverage is topped with whipped cream, waffle cone pieces and a dark caramel sauce drizzle.
Sonic Drive-In is launching a new line of frozen beverages inspired by an iconic summer refreshment. The chain’s new Frozen Lemonade and Frozen Limeade drinks are available in blue raspberry, cherry, strawberry, peach, grape and mango varieties.
Cinnabon is serving up a sweet way to fight the heat wave: the Oreo Strawberry Chillatta. The drink features a blend of sweet cream, Oreo pieces and blended strawberries topped with whipped cream and Oreo crumbles.
Providing a caffeinated cool-down, Caribou Coffee is unveiling three new flavors of Caribou Coolers: mint chocolate, salted caramel and raspberry. Made with Caribou coffee and blended with ice, Caribou Coolers may be customized with a variety of flavors and syrups.
Slushes are the icy libation of choice for Dunkin’ Donuts and Checkers and Rally’s new beverages. Dunkin’ is adding a sour apple flavor to its Coolatta frozen beverages line, and Checkers and Rally’s restaurants are introducing Kool-Aid slushies available in tropical punch and blue raspberry lemonade flavors.
