SPRINGDALE, ARK. — Tim Madigan has been appointed to the newly created role of vice-president of e-commerce for Tyson Foods, Inc. In his new role, Mr. Madigan will lead development and execution of Tyson’s e-commerce strategy and the direct relationships with all pure-play, on-line retailers, the company said.
Prior to Tyson, Mr. Madigan was the global e-commerce director of Racine, Wis.-based SC Johnson & Son. He joined the company in 2014 as director of e-commerce, North America, and one year later his responsibilities expanded to director of global e-commerce. In this role, he was responsible for developing e-commerce strategies, capabilities and infrastructure across the entire portfolio of SCJ products and markets.
Mr. Madigan began his career in 1997 as a sales account manager at Procter & Gamble, where he was given increasing responsibility in key customer account management for Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. His duties included headquarters market strategy and planning, brand management and e-commerce. He established the P&G e-commerce relationship with Wal-Mart and earned three Supplier of the Year awards from the retail giant.
“Given Tim’s extensive experience, we believe he’ll have an immediate impact on our ability to succeed in this critical channel, which we expect to deliver growth for many years to come,” said Brett Van de Bovenkamp, senior vice-president of customer growth capabilities for Tyson Foods.
Mr. Madigan will report to Mr. Van de Bovenkamp and will be based in the company’s Chicago office.
