WASHINGTON — Butter, poultry, fruit, vegetable and total red meat stocks on Nov. 30, 2012, were higher than year-earlier levels, but cheese stocks were lower, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Cold Storage report.
Frozen turkey stocks totaled 257,772,000 lbs, down 43% from October but up 33% from November 2011, the U.S.D.A. said. Total chicken stocks were 674,839,000 lbs, up 3% from October and up 4% from November 2011. Total frozen poultry stocks were 934,151,000 lbs, down 16% from October but up 10% from November 2011.
Natural cheese stocks on Nov. 30 were 941,849,000 lbs, down 1% from October and down 4% from November 2011. Butter stocks totaled 127,141,000 lbs, down 12% from October but up 36% from November 2011.
Frozen red meat supplies totaled 1,022,008,000 lbs, down 4% from October but up 6% from November 2011. Frozen pork stocks were 558,035,000 lbs, down 8% from October but up 13% from November 2011. Beef stocks in freezers totaled 441,041,000 lbs, up 2% from October but down 1% from November 2011.
Total frozen egg stocks on Nov. 30 were 27,338,000 lbs, down 6% from October and down 17% from November 2011. Stocks of egg whites were 2,774,000 lbs, down 22% from October and down 29% from November 2011. Frozen egg yolk stocks were 2,047,000 lbs, up 3% from October and up 35% from November 2011. Whole and mixed egg stocks were 8,270,000 lbs, down 9% from October and down 6% from November 2011. Unclassified egg stocks were 14,247,000 lbs, down 1% from October and down 24% from November 2011.
Stocks of frozen orange juice concentrate were 597,865,000 lbs, down 1% from October but up 25% from November 2011. Stocks of all types of frozen fruit on Nov. 30 were 1,343,284,000 lbs, down 6% from October but up 6% from November 2011.
Stocks of frozen french fries were 928,640,000 lbs, down 3% from October but up 9% from November 2011. Total vegetable stocks (excluding potatoes) on Nov. 30 were 2,489,841,000 lbs, down 4% from October but up 3% from November 2011, the U.S.D.A. said.
