KANSAS CITY — While pumpkin is popping up everywhere on shelves this time of year, several new products are chock full of chocolate.
Nonni’s is combining the two in its new seasonal biscotti flavor: Pumpkin and Milk Chocolate Hazelnut. Made with pumpkin and a blend of sweet spices, the biscotti is filled with dark chocolate chunks and dipped in dark chocolate. Nonni’s other new seasonal flavor also features chocolate: Milk Chocolate Hazelnut. This biscotti is packed with hazelnuts, dipped in milk chocolate and drizzled with more chocolate.
Hain Celestial’s Greek Gods brand is charging into the chocolate category by launching three new flavors of Greek-style yogurt, all made with a chocolate base: Chocolate Mocha, Chocolate Strawberry and Chocolate Cherry.
“Our customers have enjoyed our decadent, whole milk Greek-style yogurts for many years, and chocolate was a natural fit for our newest addition,” said Basel Nassar, chief operating officer of the Hain Refrigerated Foods Division. “Customer feedback has been extremely positive. The creamy, thick texture and rich taste of chocolate make these new flavors truly unique.”
Balance is blending chocolate with protein with three of its new Balance Bar flavors: Dark Chocolate Pecan Turtle, Chocolate Peppermint Patty and Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat. . Containing 190 calories or less, each bar offers 5-7 grams of protein and 5-6 grams of fiber.
