KANSAS CITY — With restaurants innovating for the upcoming Lent season, seafood is the star of several new menu items.

Red Lobster is kicking off its Lobsterfest promotion with four new lobster dishes: Lobster Mix & Match, Wood-Grilled Lobster and Red Shrimp, Stuffed Tilapia with Langostino Lobster and Lobsterfest Surf & Turf.

“With the largest selection of lobster dishes ever on the menu, there really is something for every seafood lover — whether it’s sweet Maine lobster, roasted rock lobster tail or lobster paired with steak, shrimp, pasta or fish,” said Dustin Hilinski, executive chef and culinary director at Red Lobster. “Lobsterfest is an exciting time of year where we get to showcase what we do best and deliver the ultimate seafood dining experience for our guests.”

Olive Garden is pairing pasta with seafood in its new Linguine di Mar. The entree features shrimp and mussels sautéed with pomodoro sauce and whole grain linguine.

Quiznos is adding a seafood sandwich to its menu. The Lobster & Seafood Scampi Bake features toasted garlic-baked lobster, melted mozzarella, tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and onions served on Quiznos signature bread.

Del Taco is debuting new Jumbo Shrimp, the star of three new menu items:

The Jumbo Shrimp Taco, the Jumbo Shrimp Burrito and the Epic Surf & Turf Burrito.
