SPRINGDALE, ARK. — Scott Stillwell, Ph.D., has been promoted to senior vice-president of food safety and quality assurance (F.S.Q.A.) at Tyson Foods, Inc.

In his new role, Dr. Stillwell will provide strategic leadership, direction and guidance for Tyson Foods’ global F.S.Q.A. discipline, the company said, as well as oversee Tyson’s commitment to safety and quality for all Tyson Foods products. He most recently was vice-president of F.S.Q.A. for Tyson Foods, supporting the company’s poultry division.

Dr. Stillwell joined Tyson Foods in 1988 as a quality control microbiologist. He succeeds Rick Roop, Ph.D., who plans to retire after 31 years with the company.

“We believe Scott’s extensive experience in food safety and quality assurance, along with his many years with the company, will make him a great leader in this critical role,” said Noel White, chief operating officer at Tyson.
