Blommer Chocolate has announced the hiring of three new executives as well as a promotion.

CHICAGO — Blommer Chocolate has announced the hiring of three new executives as well as a promotion.

New to the company are David Meggs, vice-president of sales and marketing; Scott Amoye, vice-president of commodity risk management and ingredient procurement; and Margaret Sofio, chief people officer. Additionally, Scott Wasilak has been promoted to sales director.

Mr. Meggs will be responsible for driving Blommer’s sales and marketing strategy. Most recently, Mr. Meggs was sales leader for the Americas at Cargill’s texturing solutions business. Before that, he held positions with DuPont Protein Technologies, The Solae Co. and Purac America, Inc./Corbion.

Mr. Amoye has more than 30 years of cocoa and commodity experience and will be responsible for Blommer’s commodity sourcing and risk management strategy and execution. Before joining Blommer he held positions with Cargill, ED&F Man Holdings, Inc., Cadbury, Kraft, Mondelez International, ECOM Agrotrade Ltd. and Guittard Chocolate Co.

Ms. Sofio joins Blommer with a background in the chemical and energy sectors, including positions at Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P., C&D Technologies, Inc. and PQ Corp.

With his promotion, Mr. Wasilak will be responsible for managing sales on the East coast. He joined Blommer 4 years ago after spending 12 years in procurement, strategic sourcing and price risk management at prominent food industry companies, including Groupe Danone, Mars and Mondelez. He joined Blommer first as an account manager and two years later transitioned to a strategic account management role, focusing on a number of strategic customer relationships.
