George Chappelle, c.o.o. of AdvancePierre, has been named chief integration officer at Tyson Foods.
 

SPRINGDALE, ARK. — Following the acquisition of AdvancePierre Foods Holdings, Inc. in early June, Tyson Foods, Inc. has named George Chappelle, chief operating officer of AdvancePierre, as the new chief integration officer at Tyson. In his new role, he will support acquisitions that help drive the company’s strategic growth. He will report directly to Tom Hayes, president and chief executive officer of Tyson Foods, and be a member of the company’s Enterprise Leadership Team.

“George’s experience and leadership will be valuable as we bring these two companies together and work to generate cost synergy benefits of $200 million within three years,” Mr. Hayes said. “An effective integration is an extremely important part of our strategic focus on sustainably feeding the world with the fastest growing portfolio of protein packed brands.”

Mr. Chappelle will manage the Integration Management Office and lead all aspects of the integration of AdvancePierre. He also will continue to lead operations for AdvancePierre.

Mr. Chappelle joined AdvancePierre as senior vice-president of supply chain in 2014 and became c.o.o. in 2016. He previously held operations and information technology leadership roles at Solo Cup, Sara Lee Foods, Heinz and the Gillette Co.

Tyson Foods Inc. announced the completion of its acquisition of AdvancePierre Foods on June 8. AdvancePierre is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Tyson Foods.
