“With a pro-business environment, skilled workforce and excellent location, North Charleston is a great fit for Ingredion,” said Jim Zallie, executive vice-president, global specialties and president, Americas. “One of the outstanding features of the area is the superior transportation that the Port of Charleston offers.”

The expansion will enable Ingredion to double its exports out of the Port of Charleston. South Carolina secretary of commerce Bobby Hitt expressed his congratulations to the company.

“South Carolina continues to lead the way in manufacturing, and today’s expansion announcement by Ingredion is a testament to that,” he said. “As a longtime member of the Lowcountry community, we congratulate Ingredion and look forward to seeing all that they can accomplish as they continue to thrive here.”
