WICHITA, KAS. — Hormel Foods Corp. plans to add a new 156,000-square-foot processing facility to its Dold Foods facility in Wichita at a cost of about $50 million.
In addition to the construction project, Hormel plans to invest $82 million in new machinery and equipment over the next five years, bringing the total capital expenditure of the project to $132 million.The expansion is expected to add 384 jobs to the area. Hormel currently employs 275 at the Dold Foods facility, which Hormel acquired in 1984. The plant produces sliced bacon for national retail and food service customers.
