Pizza chains are sweetening their menus by expanding their dessert offerings.
Three kinds of Hershey’s chocolate team up in Pizza Hut’s newest dessert offering, the Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Brownie. Made with Hershey’s Cocoa, Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips and Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Chips, the brownie is eight inches square and cut into nine pieces. Customers may buy the Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Brownie for $5.99 from any Pizza Hut restaurant nationwide.
Taco Bell is bringing cereal to its menu with its new Cap’n Crunch Delights. The fried dough balls are filled with warm milk-flavored icing and topped with Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries cereal crumbs. The dessert bites will be available nationwide July 2 and cost around $1 for two, $1.69 for four and $4.69 for a dozen.
Papa John’s has tied together its fresh dough and cinnamon sugar to release its new Cinnamon Knots. The dessert consists of eight oven-baked knots made from fresh dough topped with cinnamon sugar drizzle. The chain is offering eight Cinnamon Knots for $5.
The Frappuccino is turning 20 years old, and Starbucks is celebrating by offering six new Frappuccino flavors: Caramel Cocoa Cluster, Cinnamon Roll, Cotton Candy, Cupcake, Lemon Bar, and Red Velvet Cake. The Caramel Cocoa Cluster and Cinnamon Roll flavors contain coffee, while the other four are crème-based and coffee-free.
Hostess and Carl’s Jr. have come together to offer the new Hostess Ding Dong Ice Cream Sandwich. The dessert features vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two halves of a chocolate Ding Dong snack cake. The ice cream sandwich is available for around $1.49 at Carl’s Jr. restaurants.
New appetizers are sliding onto TGI Fridays’ menu. The new starters include Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeños, Jack Sliders and Boneless Wings with six new sauces: Sriracha, Memphis BBQ, Miso, PB&J, Cider Glaze, and Ghost Pepper. The Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeños, glazed with Jack Daniel’s Sauce, feature roasted jalapeños wrapped with bacon and stuffed with Asiago, Parmesan and beef. The Jack Sliders, offer U.S.D.A. Choice beef patties topped with Jack Daniel’s glaze, cola onions, melted provolone and chipotle mayonnaise. All the new appetizers cost around $5 each.
A new burger is heating up Jack in the Box’s lineup. The Black Pepper Cheeseburger features a 100% beef patty topped with two slices of Black Pepper Cheese, onion rings, hickory-smoked bacon and Peppercorn Mayo. Served on a gourmet bun, the cheeseburger costs around $4.39 and will be available through July.
Chocolate is taking center stage on the Marco’s Pizza dessert menu. The pizza chain is introducing a S’mores Brownie and Double Chocolate Brownie. The S’mores Brownie, which costs around $6.99, is made with Ghirardelli chocolate chips and is topped with marshmallows, graham cracker sprinkles and a Ghirardelli chocolate sauce drizzle. The Double Chocolate Brownie, made with Ghirardelli chocolate chips and drizzled with Ghirardelli chocolate sauce, costs around $5.99. The two brownies will be available through July 26.
