Locally-grown ingredients are the star of several new product launches.
Baker Maid is launching a new line of cookies called Love, Cookie. The treats are handmade in small batches with non-bioengineered ingredients and locally-sourced materials. The cookies are available in eight varieties: Almond Toffee Crunch, Espresso Chocolate Chip, Midnight Almond, chocolate chip, Lemon Cooler, butter pecan praline, dark chocolate orange, and dark chocolate mint.

Bodega Barcelona is revamping vegetables with its new line of Mucho Gazpacho. These ready-to-drink beverages feature a blend of non-bioengineered vegetables from Spain’s local orchards. The drinks come in three varieties: Bravo Tomato, Green Gazpacho, and Beet Gazpacho. The Bravo Tomato features a blend of tomatoes, cucumber, sweet onions, red bell peppers, olive oil, white wine vinegar and salt. The Green Gazpacho offers green tomatoes, spinach, romaine lettuce, cucumber, sweet onions, green bell peppers, olive oil, white wine vinegar and salt. The Beet Gazpacho includes tomatoes, beets, cucumbers, sweet onions, red bell peppers, olive oil, white wine vinegar and salt. Mucho Gazpacho is available in 8-oz bottles.

The Diestel Family Turkey Ranch is adding a Non-G.M.O. Project Verified Natural Whole Turkey to its offerings. The turkeys are free of casein, carrageenan, phosphates, MSG, and artificial ingredients and preservatives. Diestel’s turkeys are fed a 100% vegetarian diet of premium grains enhanced with vitamins and minerals. The farm’s feed is free of antibiotics, growth enhancers, hormones, gluten, animal byproducts, and dried distillers grains. Ranging from 12 to 16 lbs., Diestel’s non-G.M.O. turkeys are ice-chilled for quality.

Flowers Foods’ Tastykake brand is releasing a slew of new products featuring fall flavors. New pumpkin spice Mini Donuts, available in 10-oz bags, consist of pumpkin spice donuts covered in cinnamon. Caramel apple Mini Donuts, available in 11.5-oz bags, offer apple flavored donuts with a caramel crumble coating. Both mini donut varieties retail for around $2.99 per bag. Tastykake’s new pumpkin spice cupcakes feature a pumpkin spiced flavored cupcake topped with cream cheese flavored icing and retail for about $4.49 per 12.75-oz. box.
