New juice products cater to consumers seeking organic options free of G.M.O.s and added sugars.
The Naked Juice Co. is joining the cold-pressed beverage trend with the launch of its new Naked Cold-Pressed Juice line. Made with fruit and vegetables cold-pressed directly into the bottle, the juices are Non-GMO Project verified and contain no preservatives or added sugars. The juices come in five varieties: Bright Greens, which combines apple, cucumber, celery, romaine lettuce, lemon, kale, spinach and wheatgrass; Hearty Greens, which includes celery, apple, romaine lettuce, cucumber, orange, spinach ,lemon, wheatgrass, kale and spearmint; Bold Beet, which offers beet, carrot, cucumber, apple, lemon, orange and ginger; Lively Carrot, which mixes carrot, apple, lemon, cucumber, orange, vanilla and turmeric; and Cool Pineapple, which blends pineapple, cucumber, lemon and filtered water.

Zola Fruits of the World is launching two new products: Chocolate Coconut Water and Acai Juice with Mango and Chia. The Chocolate Coconut Water contains 11 grams of sugar and is gluten-free non-bioengineered and B.P.A. free. Zola’s Acai Juice with Mango and Chia is made with sustainably harvested acai, mango and ground chia. The U.S.D.A. Organic certified juice is vegan and gluten-free and contains no cholesterol, preservatives, dairy, bioengineered ingredients or B.P.A.
“We have been watching the growth of the chia category and believe chia blended with Acai creates a nutritional powerhouse,” said Chris Cuvelier, founder and chief executive officer of Zola. “The tropical flavor profile of mango and the addition of organic ground chia is a direct response to consumer and retailer demand for more delicious chia products in a rapidly expanding category.”

Harvest Hill Beverage Co. is expanding its Juicy Juice line with new Juicy Juice Teasers. Made with decaffeinated and caffeine-free teas, the beverages are sweetened with fruit juice and contain no high-fructose corn syrup, cane sugar or artificial sweeteners. Available in 10-oz single-serve bottles and 64-oz bottles, Juicy Juice Teasers come in peach, berry, Half & Half, and apple flavors.
“By blending juice and tea, we’ve created a lower-sugar, refreshing beverage that tastes delicious,” said Ilene Bergenfeld, chief marketing officer of Harvest Hill Beverage Co. “Our research found that older kids are looking for more beverage variety, but most options have sugar and/or caffeine. Nestle USA is providing premium chocolate lovers in the United States with a new option: Nestle Damak chocolate bars. Damak, Nestle’s Turkish premium chocolate brand, offers bars made with pistachios sourced from the Gaziantep region of Turkey and either fine chocolate or dark chocolate. The bars contain no artificial flavors or colors.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. has teamed up with General Mills' Betty Crocker brand to offer new Betty Crocker Cake Mix with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts’ Original Glazed flavor. The cake mix kit includes mix for a yellow cake and Krispy Kreme’s traditional glaze to top off the treat.
“Our fans are always trying to re-create Krispy Kreme Doughnuts’ classic glaze at home,” said Tony Thompson, president and chief executive officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “With this kit, they don’t have to try anymore. Now they can really do it. We’re excited to be able to bring this item to shelves and allow customers to have the iconic flavor of our sweet treats at home.”

Flowers Foods’ Tastykake brand is celebrating the soon-to-be season with two new spring-inspired sweets and the return of three favorites. Tastykake is offering one new mini donut flavor: peach cobbler, which features a peach flavored donut covered in a sweet cobbler crumble; and bringing back strawberry, which offers a strawberry flavored donut coated in traditional powdered sugar. Kandy Kakes also return in two limited edition flavors: Lemon Kandy Kakes feature a white coated vanilla sponge cake stuffed with lemon crème, and Strawberry Kandy Kakes offer white coated vanilla sponge cake filled with strawberry crème. Finally, Tastykake is unveiling new Cherry Sweet Rolls, which feature an iced sweet roll packed with cherry filling.

Deep River Snacks is delving into the flavored tortilla chip market with its new line of Honchos tortilla chips. Made with 90% to 100% organic ingredients, the chips contain no bioengineered ingredients or artificial ingredients and are certified gluten-free. Honchos are available in nacho cheese, ranch and peach habanero flavors; ranch and peach habanero are 100% organic and bear the U.S.D.A. Organic seal.

The Red Gold Brand, in partnership with Pop! Gourmet Foods and Huy Fong Foods, is spicing up snack time with its new Huy Fong Sriracha Salsa. The Glukos Co., Inc. is launching a line of protein bars made with glucose instead of maltodextrin or sucralose. The bars, made with whey protein isolate, contain no sucrose, high-fructose corn syrup, or artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors. Available in chocolate peanut butter, Cookies N’ Crème and Rocky Road varieties, Glukos protein bars feature 15 grams of protein and 200 calories.
