Fiery flavor innovation is heating up the snack aisle.
PepsiCo, Inc.’s Frito-Lay division is spicing up the snack aisle with new Doritos Blaze, featuring a “complex flavor and heat that builds as you crunch,” the company said. The chips are made with jalapeño, tomato, onion and garlic powders along with other spices.

Conagra Brands, Inc.’s Angie’s Boomchickapop brand is adding two new popcorn flavors to its portfolio: Cinnamon Roll Drizzled kettle corn and Chile Lime popcorn. Both varieties are certified gluten, free, non-G.M.O. and bear the Whole Grains Council stamp.

BFY Brands is adding a new flavor to its PopCorners line of air popped corn snacks. New Spicy Queso PopCorners, made with Non-GMO Project verified corn and a zesty medley of red and black peppercorns, are gluten-free and contain 120 calories per serving.

Oogies Gourmet Popcorn is undergoing a makeover, including new packaging and new popcorn flavors. The gluten-free, non-G.M.O. whole grain popcorn is available in six varieties: Wisconsin Cheddar 1848, Movie Time Butter, Original Kettlecorn, Caramel Chipotle, Spicy Nacho Cheddar and Hickory Smoked Gouda.

Quest Nutrition is launching Quest Protein Cookies, a new line of chewy, protein-packed cookies. Featuring 15 grams of protein, 9 grams of fiber and less than 3 grams of sugar per serving, the cookies are available in chocolate chip, peanut butter, double chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin varieties.

The Kellogg Co. is debuting a duo of new Rice Krispies Treats varieties, “inspired by the most sought-after flavors of homemade Rice Krispies Treats on social media,” the company said.
New Birthday Cake Rice Krispies Treats feature rainbow sprinkles, a crème drizzle and a crème-coated bottom, while Cookies ‘n’ Crème Rice Krispies Treats feature chocolate cookie crumbles, a crème drizzle and a crème coating on the bottom.

Clif Bar & Co. is expanding its Luna Bar portfolio with new Luna Rica bars. Inspired by the Spanish word “rica,” meaning “rich and delicious,” the bars are “breakable” organic fruit and nut bars with nut butter fillings. The U.S.D.A.-certified organic, non-G.M.O. and gluten-free bars are available in three varieties: Salted caramel nut, chocolate peanut butter and chocolate coconut almond.
