In November 2018, Del Monte Foods launched Fruit & Oats snack cups, featuring ready-to-eat oatmeal with fruit that may be eaten hot or cold. Each 7-oz cup provides 20 grams of whole grains, one full serving of fruit, 4 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein and 400 mg of omega-3 fatty acids.

Del Monte Foods continued to expand outside the canned food aisle in August with the launch of Bubble Fruit, a new line that combines the classic fruit cup with popping boba, or tapioca pearls. Bubble Fruit comes in peach strawberry lemonade, sour apple watermelon and pear berry pomegranate flavors. The convenient, better-for-you snacks contain a full serving of fruit, 60 calories and 12-13 grams of sugar per 4-oz cup.
In October, Del Monte Foods expanded its snacking portfolio with Fruit Crunch Parfaits, a new line of non-dairy parfaits.
New Fruit Crunch Parfaits are made with coconut creme, which provides the “flavor, texture and richness of yogurt,” Del Monte said. Each 6.25-oz cup contains a full serving of fruit and includes 2 billion probiotics, 180 to 200 calories and 18 to 20 grams of sugar. The parfaits come with a honey oat granola topping and are available in mango, strawberry, blueberry, and pineapple coconut flavors.
Del Monte's Contadina brand branched beyond the canned tomato aisle for the first time in October with the launch of Contadina Pizzettas, a new line of better-for-you frozen pizza bites.
Providing one full serving of vegetables per five pieces, the Pizzettas feature a blend of Roma tomato sauce and cheese stuffed in a crust baked with cauliflower. The pizza snacks come in 7.5-oz packages of 10 bites and are available in three varieties: four cheese, Margherita and garden vegetable.
The four cheese Pizzettas contain a blend of mozzarella, provolone, Romano and Parmesan cheeses with Roma tomato sauce wrapped in a crust made with cauliflower. The pizza snacks provide 11 grams of protein and 270 calories per five-bite serving.
The Margherita Pizzettas include mozzarella cheese, basil and Roma tomato sauce stuffed into crust made with cauliflower. The bites contain 10 grams of protein and 260 calories per five-piece serving.

Del Monte Foods in October introduced Veggieful Bites, featuring a savory blend of vegetables and cheese baked in a crust made with cauliflower and whole wheat. Available in broccoli and cheddar, spinach and feta, and veggie and mozzarella varieties, the snacks come in 7.5-oz packages and contain one full serving of vegetables and 9 to 10 grams of protein per five-bite serving.
The broccoli and cheddar bites are stuffed with Parmesan cheese, reduced-fat cheddar cheese and broccoli. The snacks contain 240 calories and 5 grams of fiber per serving.
The spinach and feta flavor features a filling of Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, rosemary spinach, cauliflower and onions. Each serving contains 240 calories and 9 grams of fiber.
The veggie and mozzarella variety is filled with Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, green and red bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms and onions. The bites contain 240 calories and 6 grams of fiber per serving.
Del Monte is delivering a new meal starter solution to support the one-pot meal trend.
Under its College Inn brand, Del Monte is introducing Simple Starter, a seasoned meal starter made with College Inn stock, herbs and seasonings. To prepare a one-pot-meal with the product, consumers may add protein and vegetables, simmer and then serve.
College Inn Simple Starter comes in three flavors: savory chicken, hearty beef and Mexican style.
The savory chicken Simple Starter features a blend of chicken stock and vegetable stock made with concentrates of onion, celery root and carrot. The stock also includes olive oil, onions, garlic, black pepper, sage, thyme, vegetable stock, turmeric, bay leaves, white vinegar and rosemary. Each ¼-cup serving contains 15 calories and 1 gram of protein.
The hearty beef variety is made with beef stock, olive oil, beef fat, burgundy wine, tomatoes, carrots, onions, celery and black pepper. Each ¼-cup serving contains 20 calories and 1 gram of protein.
The Mexican style Simple Starter contains a combination of vegetable stock, tomato, garlic, poblano peppers, guajillo peppers, ancho chile peppers, onion, soybean oil, cumin, chipotle, cayenne pepper, lime juice and oregano. Each ¼-cup serving contains 15 calories.
College Inn Simple Starter is available in 24-oz cartons that contain about 11 servings each and retail for around $3.50.
Del Monte is currently rolling out new Veggieful Bowls, featuring a blend of vegetables, whole grains and a savory sauce. The ready-to-eat 7.4-oz bowls contain one full serving of vegetables and are available in four varieties: Southwest style corn, roasted red pepper, garlic and herb, and Asian style soy sesame.
The Southwest style corn bowl combines corn, black beans, diced tomatoes, brown rice and white and red quinoa with a jalapeño and roasted pepper sauce. The bowl contains 240 calories, 6 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein.
The roasted red pepper bowl includes diced tomatoes, mushrooms, lentils, artichokes and white and red quinoa with a roasted red pepper and garlic sauce. The bowl contains 210 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein.
The garlic and herb bowl blends riced cauliflower, carrots, corn, green beans and white and red quinoa with a garlic and herb sauce. The bowl contains 200 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein.
