
Restaurants pile on the cheese in new offerings.
Papa John’s is rolling out Epic Stuffed Crust, the chain’s first stuffed crust pizza. The offering starts with Papa John’s original dough, made from flour, water, sugar, soybean oil, salt and yeast, and stuffs it with extra cheese.
Noodles & Company is testing new ravioli and tortelloni dishes at 21 locations across Colorado, Illinois and Ohio. The new stuffed pasta options are available in six varieties.
The 3-Cheese Tortelloni Rosa features tortelloni filled with a blend of ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, onions and garlic in spicy tomato cream sauce with mushrooms, Roma tomato, spinach and Parmesan.
The 3-Cheese Tortelloni Pesto includes tortelloni filled with a blend of ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, onions and garlic in basil pesto cream sauce with garlic, mushrooms, tomato, and Parmesan.
The Roasted Garlic Cream Tortelloni contains cheese-filled tortelloni in light roasted garlic and onion cream sauce with zucchini, mushrooms and spinach, finished with MontAmoré cheese and parsley.
The Parmigiano Ravioli Rosa is made with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-filled ravioli in spicy tomato cream sauce with mushrooms, Roma tomato, spinach and Parmesan.
The Parmigiano Ravioli Pesto features Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-filled ravioli in basil pesto cream sauce with garlic, mushrooms, tomato and Parmesan.
The Roasted Garlic Cream Ravioli contains Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-filled ravioli in light roasted garlic and onion cream sauce with zucchini, mushrooms and spinach, finished with MontAmoré cheese.
Blaze Pizza is offering new Cheesy Bread, made with the chain’s pizza dough covered in melted whole-milk mozzarella cheese, topped with oregano and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. The bread is served with a classic red sauce for dipping.
BurgerFi is beefing up its burger menu with the new White Cheddar Mac & Cheese Cheeseburger. The handheld features a 100% all-natural Angus Beef burger patty, American cheese and crispy white cheddar bacon jalapeño macaroni and cheese served on a toasted, branded bun.
Jack in the Box is launching The Cluck Sandwich, made with a crispy chicken fillet topped with pickles and a mystery sauce served on a warm brioche bun. The sandwich may be upgraded to The Cluck Deluxe Sandwich, which adds guacamole, cheddar cheese and bacon.
Popeyes’ new Chocolate Beignets are stuffed with melted Hershey’s chocolate and covered in powdered sugar.
New from Olive Garden is Chicken Marsala, featuring two lightly floured grilled chicken breasts topped with mushroom and marsala wine sauce. The entree is served with a side of fettuccine alfredo.
New from White Castle is the Smoky Joe Slider, featuring a blend of beef, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and a sweet and tangy sauce topped with smoked cheddar cheese and crispy onion strings all piled on a square slider bun.
Frisch’s Big Boy is introducing supersized sandwiches for breakfast with the launch of BIGscuit Sandwiches, served on extra-large buttered biscuits. Varieties include bacon, cheese and egg; Goetta, cheese and egg; ham, cheese and egg; egg, cheese and Impossible Sausage; sausage; sausage, cheese and egg; smoked sausage, cheese and egg; and turkey sausage, cheese and egg. All BIGscuit Sandwiches also may be served as a “Hog Heaven” by adding two strips of bacon and a slice of cheese.
Additionally, Frisch’s Big Boy is offering the new Frozen Hot Chocolate Frappe for the holiday season. The beverage is prepared with Ghirardelli chocolate and cold-brew coffee then sprinkled with peppermint and topped with whipped cream.
