Seasonal launches include seafood, St. Patrick’s Day themed beverages and desserts.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is serving the Bangin’ Shrimp Taco for a limited time. The item is prepared with tempura-battered fried shrimp or grilled shrimp topped with a sweet chile sauce, avocado crema, cabbage and pepper slaw, feta cheese and cilantro in a flour tortilla.
“This taco is packed with flavor and features shrimp, one of our most popular items, which also offers a seafood option for our guests who don’t eat meat or have cut it out for Lent,” said Laura Purser, vice president of marketing.
Returning to White Castle’s menu for a limited time is Shrimp Nibblers, bite-size butterfly shrimp made with a crispy coating. The offering is available in small, medium and sack sizes.
“Our Shrimp Nibblers are so good they reel in more fans every time we offer them,” said Lynn Blashford, chief marketing officer for White Castle. “It’s love at first bite. They’re definitely a perennial favorite with our customers.”
New at Sonic Drive-In is the Bacon on Bacon Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger, featuring two beef patties topped with a tangy smoke sauce, four slices of bacon, two slices of American cheese, mayonnaise, pickles and onions on a toasted bakery bun.
“Our culinary team wanted to take our cheeseburgers to the next level and give our bacon-loving fans even more of what they want,” said Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation. “Not only do we double the bacon, but our tangy smoke sauce complements and amplifies the bacon flavor and truly perfects this bacon-lover’s dream cheeseburger.”
Long John Silver’s is offering for a limited time several shrimp options, including grilled shrimp, battered shrimp and crispy popcorn shrimp.
Krystal Restaurants has unveiled a seasonal menu of seafood items with a Southern twist. The Shrimp Po’ Boy has fried shrimp in a steamed bun topped with remoulade sauce and pickles. The Buffalo Ranch Shrimp Po’ Boy is topped with Buffalo sauce and ranch. The Double Dozen Basket contains two dozen fried popcorn shrimp, crispy fries and hush puppies with a side of remoulade.
“New Orleans is known for their unique and flavorful cuisine and we were inspired by the ‘Big Easy’ for our Lenten menu,” said Alice Crowder, chief marketing officer for Krystal Restaurants LLC. “We’re excited to bring back some favorites and serve up some new offerings this season. We put together highly craveable bites that evoke the spirit and great tastes of the popular Southern city.”
Zaxby’s is introducing its new signature club sandwich, which has breaded crispy chicken, pickle chips, bacon and American cheese with a choice of Zax sauce or Spicy Zax sauce served on a toasted potato bun.
“With the launch of our new Signature Club Sandwich, we created our own club remix of the Signature Sandwich and turned it up a notch,” said Joel Bulger, chief marketing officer. “Knowing our ‘fanz,’ we are giving them something additional to rave about and announce a well-kept secret.”
Taco Cabana has launched the Shrimp Tampico taco and Shrimp Tampico quesadilla for a limited time. The menu items contain shrimp marinated in ancho spice, sauteed with garlic, lime and cilantro and served with pineapple chipotle salsa. Also new at the quick-service restaurant chain is a tres leches cake, which features a sweet sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk.
Hard Rock Cafe has teamed with professional athlete Lionel Messi to create the Messi Burger, which has two beef patties, provolone cheese, chorizo, caramelized red onion and a spicy, smoky sauce on a brioche bun with lettuce and tomato.
New on the dessert menu at Johnny Rockets are milkshakes inspired by two popular cereal brands. The Trix Shake and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake each feature cereal pieces blended into a vanilla shake. The latter adds a topping of Cinnadust seasoning.
Jimmy John’s is rolling out a new sandwich. The Zesty Garden Turkey Club is topped with sliced turkey, herb aioli, roasted tomatoes and pickled red onions.
The flavor of the month at Baskin-Robbins is Golden Oreo Irish Cream, which has Irish cream and Belgian chocolate ice cream with Golden Oreo cookie pieces and graham cracker crumbs.
Dunkin’ has debuted its spring menu. New beverages include salted caramel cream cold brew, salted caramel latte and the Shamrock Macchiato, which layers espresso with Irish cream flavor, sweet cream and vanilla and has a green hue. The brand also is introducing a chocolate croissant, roasted tomato and hummus toast dusted with za’atar seasoning and roasted tomato and avocado toast topped with everything bagel seasoning.
A limited-edition Oreo Cookie Mint Shake is joining the menu at Jack in the Box, spun with a mint flavor and Oreo cookie pieces and topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
Andy’s Frozen Custard has unveiled its seasonal St. Patrick’s Day themed treats. The mint cookie concrete blends vanilla frozen custard with mint and crumbled mint cookies. The CrumbleMint Shake has vanilla frozen custard blended with Oreo cookies and mint.
Buffalo Wild Wings has partnered with PepsiCo, Inc. to offer an exclusive beverage at its restaurants. MTN DEW Legend combines the brand’s signature taste with notes of blackberry, citrus and ginger, according to the company. The drink was designed to elevate Buffalo Wild Wings’ sauces, burgers and other bar food items.
Inspired by St. Patrick’s Day, Yogurtland is offering its Irish mint cream flavored frozen yogurt for a limited time.
“St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun time of year and our flavorologists were inspired by mint and the refreshing taste it brings to frozen yogurt,” said Brittany Knollmiller, director of marketing for Yogurtland. “Paired with our limited time chopped Andes Mint toppings, it’s the perfect treat to celebrate the holiday.”
