Consumer snacking occasions are increasing along with the available flavor and format options.
Volpi Foods expanded its presence in the meat snacks category with a new line of Salami Stix. They are available in 2-oz packages and offered in two flavors: spicy or original.
“We are excited to introduce our newest product, Stix, to our customers,” said Lorenza Pasetti, chief executive officer of Volpi Foods. “Our focus has always been on providing high-quality, all-natural products that use only the best ingredients. Salami Stix are no exception.”
Chomps launched two new flavors of Chomplings, the meat snack company’s mini sticks. The products are called Chomplings Sea Salt Beef and Chomplings Jalapeño Beef.
The two sticks were already available in the full size, which come in 10 varieties. The company added that the Chomplings featured 4 grams of protein and may be consumed as an on-the-go snack that can fit into purses and lunch boxes.
Meat snack brand Country Archer Provisions debuted two new items — Rosemary Turkey Mini Sticks and Original Beef Jerky Snack Packs. The portioned protein snacks offer clean label ingredients for health-conscious consumers.
The Rosemary Turkey Mini Sticks are infused with herbs and spices like rosemary, basil, thyme, garlic and onion. The Original Beef Jerky Snack Packs are made from grass-fed beef combined with spices like garlic and onion powder.
Volpi Foods added a new charcuterie product, Uncured Pepperoni & Chorizo Crumbles.
Country Archer Provisions also launched a line of better-for-you smoked sausages. The Zero-Sugar Smoked Sausages come in a bite-size format and are formulated with a blend of grass-fed beef and antibiotic-free pork. Country Archer’s smoked sausages, available in original and Fuego flavors, contain 9 grams of protein and 100 calories per serving.
Rovagnati, a manufacturer of charcuterie products, expanded its portfolio of cured meat snacks with a new line of nitrite-free salami.
Offerings in the No-Nitrites-Ever series include genoa salami, soppressata, a spicier hot soppressata and finocchiona, all of which were developed using a slow-curing and fermentation process that eliminates the need for added nitrites and improves the natural growth of certain molds. The company also has launched two new antipasto trio packs featuring the No-Nitrites-Ever meats, including one with genoa salami, hot soppressata and provolone cheese, and another with genoa salami, prosciutto crudo and provolone cheese.
Pederson’s Natural Farms launched a mild pickled sausage. The product is made from pork and beef sourced from animals that are vegetarian-fed and GAP Animal Welfare certified.
Salami maker Olli Salumeria launched its first ever preservative-free salami offerings with a line of high-protein snacks.
Olli Salamini and Curd Snacks are formulated with a simplified salt curing process and naturally occurring polyphenolic compounds, eliminating the need for added nitrates and nitrites. The new process was developed to capitalize on the growing demand for clean label products and minimally processed foods, according to the company.
Hofmann Sausage Co. launched Korean barbecue-flavored smoked jerky, marking the company’s first pork-based jerky. The new product joins Hofmann’s existing smoked beef jerky flavors, like prime rib, cherry maple and honey barbecue, that launched in 2020.
