Non-dairy products make their debut.
My/Mochi is releasing its first-ever sorbet line, which features mochi dough, filled with a fruit sorbet. Available in an initial flavor launch of peach mango and raspberry options, the non-dairy frozen treats are 70 calories per serving.
After a three-year hiatus, Spindrift is bringing back its blackberry sparkling water. The flavor was no longer offered after a heatwave in 2021 caused high prices and a low supply of quality berries, according to the company. The flavor will be available for a limited time through the company’s website.
“Our product relies on the quality of the ingredients that we can source from nature,” said Brett Atkinson, senior vice president of operations at Spindrift. “After continuously tracking the availability and cost of berries as well as carefully tasting and evaluating the quality, we were able to create this limited-release batch of Spindrift blackberry for our Drifter community.”
Plant-based milk brand Malk Organics expanded its portfolio with three plant-based creamers, vanilla almond, caramel almond and lightly sweetened oat. The dairy-free creamers contain no gums, oils or fillers.
Hellmann's expanded its condiment portfolio with the launch of chipotle mayonnaise dressing, which is made with chipotle peppers for a smoky flavor and a hint of lime. The brand also added a chili lime mayonnaise dressing and an Italian herb and garlic mayonnaise dressing to its lineup.
Plant-based functional protein beverage brand Rebbl added its first product beyond 12-oz ready-to-drink beverages, smoothie starters. The multi-serve smoothie starters are intended to create nutrient-dense smoothies quickly, according to the company. Available in coconut milk and oat milk liquid base flavors, the smoothie starters feature 20 grams of protein, as well as postbiotics.
Prego, a brand from the Campbell Soup Co., introduced a line of creamy pesto sauces, which combines the flavors of Alfredo pasta with pesto. The new line features three varieties: creamy basil pesto, creamy roasted garlic pesto and creamy Parmesan pesto.
“Pesto is seeing the largest amount of growth within the Italian sauce category and yet is the smallest segment,” said Caitlin Votava, director of marketing at Prego. “We’ve seen that everyone is craving more meal inspiration with new flavors, so we created creamy pesto sauces with a vision to elevate more than just pasta, while keeping weeknight dinners easy and flavorful.”
Mondelez International brand Oreo debuted a new Star Wars-themed Oreo cookie in collaboration with Lucasfilm. The brands are releasing two iterations of the Oreos in the same packaging, but the cookies either contain a colored crème that symbolizes the dark side or the light side of the force.
“Pairing two tremendously loved communities to launch the Star Wars Oreo Cookie Packs has been an amazing experience,” said Nicole Fischer, senior brand manager, Oreo, US. “We are continuing to make strides to cement our brand’s cultural relevance via strategic collaborations. We hope fans see how much we loved bringing their favorite stories to life, and that they have fun discovering the details we've included at every touchpoint.”
Boursin, a brand from Bel Brands USA, added a limited-edition rosemary and black garlic flavor to its portfolio. The cheese features the savory flavors of black garlic paired with herbal notes of rosemary, according to the company.
“Along with quality taste and texture, trending flavors and consumer demand are always top-of-mind when we bring forward a new flavor innovation and rosemary and black garlic was no different,” said Ridhi Barber, brand director of Boursin. “We’re excited to see how consumers use this unique flavor profile at home alongside the rest of our delicious gourmet cheeses.”
The Hershey Co. expanded its Kit Kat line with a new, limited-edition flavor: pink lemonade. The summer-inspired candy features the Kit Kat wafers, wrapped in a pink lemonade-flavored crème with hints of strawberry.
“Creating new, unexpected flavor experiences for our Kit Kat fans is at the core of what we do,” said Hilary Long, brand lead at Kit Kat. “The Kit Kat pink lemonade flavored bar delivers an immersive experience in every bite, reminiscent of a refreshing glass of pink lemonade as the weather heats up for summer fun.”
