J.M. Smucker Co. brand Café Bustelo is now offering ready-to-drink espresso style iced coffee beverages. The product marks a substantial innovation for the traditionally shelf-stable brand, which primarily utilized applications such as ground, instant and decaf coffee, K-Cup pods, espresso capsules, flavored coffee, origin blends and whole beans.
The new collection will feature unsweetened, sweetened and vanilla flavors and will come in standalone 40-oz bottles.
“In recent years, we’ve started to see many of our coffee customers, both young and old, reach more and more for iced coffee,” said Eduardo S. Merino, senior brand manager of Café Bustelo. “This new product intentionally combines our nearly century-long mastery of coffee with a cold and refreshing taste for an iced coffee that is brand new.”
Pure Leaf has rolled out its first sugar-free, zero calorie innovation. Pure Leaf Zero Sugar Sweet Tea is available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.49 per 18.5-oz container.
J&J Snack Foods Corp. subsidiary The Icee Co., has partnered with WK Kellogg Co to introduce a Froot Loops flavor. The new flavor, inspired by the cereal, is now available at select retailers nationwide, including Maverik and Meijer Gas.
“As more people are seeking products that evoke nostalgia and fun, partnering with WK Kellogg Co to offer a new Froot Loops flavored Icee was a natural fit,” said Kimmra Hingher, vice president of marketing for The Icee Co.
Beverage maker Lipton Teas and Infusions has unveiled its reformulated line of green tea bags. The reimagined blends are designed to deliver smooth fruit flavor notes alongside functional benefits from natural occurring flavonoids. Flavors at launch include the brand’s signature blend, decaffeinated green tea, peach green tea, lemon green tea and honey ginger green tea.
“With reformulated blends and refreshing fruit flavors, I’m thrilled for tea drinkers to experience Lipton’s great tasting green tea innovations that also support well-being,” said Racquel Harris Mason, president, North America Lipton Teas and Infusions.”
Rebbl has debuted a line of smoothie starters, marking the company’s first product beyond 12-oz ready-to-drink beverages. The plant-based functional protein beverage producer developed the lineup to make smoothie preparation easier. The multi-serve smoothie starters are intended to create nutrient-dense smoothies quickly, according to the company, with coconut milk and oat milk liquid base flavors. Rebbl’s smoothie starters feature 20 grams of protein, as well as postbiotics.
“The launch of smoothie starter marks a significant milestone in our product portfolio; we’re proud to introduce this one-of-a-kind offering for smoothies that is unmatched in the current market,” said Andy Fathollahi, chief executive officer of SYSTM Foods. “We’ve eliminated the guesswork from smoothie prep and are offering consumers a quality, convenient foundation to enhance their morning ritual at an unrivaled value.”
Mott’s Active hydrating juice beverage is formulated with a blend of apple juice, coconut water and added electrolytes. The drink is now available in the juice aisle of retailers nationwide, packaged in six-count packs of 8-oz bottles.
Capri Sun has launched its first innovation in nearly 10 years. The Kraft Heinz Co. brand released a 96-oz variety of its Capri Sun fruit punch flavor in response to consistent consumer requests for larger formats. Each bottle contains the equivalent of 32 pouches worth of juice.
“With this larger format, everyone, including kids at heart, can bring a piece of their epic childhood to parties, summer gatherings and even dinnertime at home,” said Jordan Mann, senior brand manager, for Capri Sun.
Specialty coffee roaster La Colombe launched its 11-oz draft latte cans nationwide, the first new product released by the company since it was acquired by Chobani for $900 million in December 2023. The ready-to-drink coffee is available in flavors such as double, triple, mocha, vanilla and caramel flavors. Each can features the “texture of a true cold latte, complete with a layer of froth,” according to the company.
Nixie has added organic zero sugar soda to its beverage lineup. Formulated from organic flavors and extracts, the drink is also calorie free. Flavors include classic cola, root beer and ginger ale, and the product will come in 12-oz cans.
The Original Donut Shop has unveiled Iced Refreshers K-Cup pods, a new line of iced beverage products. The Keurig Dr Pepper brand developed the pods to give consumers coffeeshop-quality fruit flavored drink options that can be conveniently created at home, according to the company. With flavors like strawberry acai and pineapple passionfruit, the pods can be brewed over ice using any Keurig brewing system.
“We’re thrilled to now offer consumers a unique way to create their own refreshers from home that won’t break the bank, and deliver that same cafe-quality taste,” said Becky Opdyke, senior vice president, Coffee Marketing at Keurig Dr Pepper.
Product innovations were on full display at the March trade show.
