New beverage items aim to combat higher temperatures.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has partnered with lifestyle brand tokidoki to create three limited-time beverages inspired by tokidoki characters. Varieties include Chocotella, strawberry milk and boba Bob. The offerings are available now through Aug. 20 in The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf cafes.
Taco Bell is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Mtn Dew Baja Blast collaboration with PepsiCo, Inc. with a new Baja Blast format. Following a limited release in 2023, Taco Bell will release Mtn Dew Baja Blast gelato nationwide beginning Sept. 3. The item will be available to order exclusively through the company’s mobile app.
Sonic Drive-In is launching a new premium cheeseburger, the Sonic Smasher. The burger features two Angus beef patties, two slices of American cheese, a signature Smasher sauce, crinkle-cut pickles, diced onions and a potato bun. The Sonic Smasher also may be ordered in a Triple Smasher variety with three beef patties.
“Consumers should be able to indulge in a premium cheeseburger without having to pay the high costs charged by many fast-casual burger brands,” said Ryan Dickerson, chief marketing officer of Sonic.
7-Eleven has unveiled its pumpkin spice beverage menu, which features two new drinks and two returning ones. Returning offerings include pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin spice lattes. New offerings include pumpkin spice cold brew and pumpkin spice Slurpee. The coffee, latte and cold brew drinks are now available in stores nationwide, and the Slurpee is available in five select 7-Eleven locations.
Casual dining chain Applebee’s is bringing back several of its all-you-can-eat offerings for a limited time. Returning items include boneless wings, in classic Buffalo, honey barbecue, sweet Asian chile, garlic Parmesan, extra hot Buffalo and honey pepper flavors; riblets in honey barbecue and sweet Asian chile flavors; and fried Double Crunch shrimp.
“Our All You Can Eat Boneless Wings, Riblets, and Double Crunch Shrimp deal is the perfect way for our guests to eat their fill and leave with their wallets full,” said Joel Yashinsky, chief marketing officer of Applebee’s.
Tim Hortons has launched the latest additions to its summer drink menu. Frozen beverages include the Cocoa Caramel Crunch Iced Capp and mango lemonade, also available in an iced format. The company also added a new cold brew offering in a butter pecan flavor.
