Better-for-you brand CauliPuffs is debuting its flagship line of baked puffed snacks. The vegetable-based offerings are formulated from a mix of cauliflower, rice, corn and avocado oil to create a snacking option free from soy and gluten, for health-conscious consumers and those with specific dietary needs.
CauliPuffs initially are launching in flavors like white cheddar, honey BBQ and vegan salt and pepper. Each single-serving package contains 100 calories, 5 grams of total fat and 2 grams of protein.
“Here at CauliPuffs, we believe that snacking should be enjoyable and guilt-free,” said Joey Rosa, co-founder of CauliPuffs. “Our goal is to provide a healthier alternative to traditional snacking options while also offering a range of flavors that cater to everyone.”
Mondelez International has introduced its first certified gluten-free cookie under the Chips Ahoy! brand. As the latest permanent addition to the brand’s lineup, the cookie product was developed over the course of years to “yield an unbeatable texture and decadent taste,” with the Chips Ahoy! innovation team creating more than 40 recipes over 3,000 hours, Mondelez said.
“When we set out to create our first Chips Ahoy! gluten-free cookie, we didn’t want it to be a good gluten-free cookie, we wanted it to be a great cookie that’s also gluten free,” said Jainette Quinones, brand manager of innovation at Chips Ahoy!.
Goodles has launched its first gluten-free additions to the company’s lineup of better-for-you macaroni and cheese products. The brand’s Gluten Free Cheddy Mac and Gluten Free Vegan Be Heroes varieties feature noodles formulated from a combination of corn, brown rice and chickpea protein, and the vegan option includes a plant-based cheese derived from cashew milk. Both clean label offerings are designed as good sources of protein and fiber, and each product contains 4 grams of prebiotics per serving.
“’When will you release a gluten-free version?’ was asked about 20 seconds after our launch, and it’s consistently been our most-requested wish ever since,” said Jen Zeszut, co-founder and chief executive officer at Goodles. “That’s likely because millions with celiac disease struggle to find delicious products to eat, and 25% of all Americans are trying to limit their gluten intake.”
ZENB, a plant-based pasta brand, has added a line of at-home craft ramen derived from 100% whole yellow peas. The gluten-free, non-fried noodles contain 18 grams of protein and 11 grams of fiber per serving. Flavors include spicy miso, shoyu and vegan tonkotsu.
Franz Bakery expanded its portfolio of gluten-free bread with sourdough, brioche and rye flavored varieties. The bread offerings are vegan and contain no nuts, soy, dairy, egg or high-fructose corn syrup, according to the company.
“Based on customer feedback, we found that a longer, more generous slice was desired and we are thrilled to share these new loaves,” said Victoria Krabill, director of marketing at Franz.
Malk Organics released its first line of plant-based creamers with three products. The dairy-free offerings are derived from ingredients such as organic almonds or gluten-free oats, filtered water, soluble tapioca fiber, baking soda and organic coconut sugar. The creamers also feature a clean label formulation free from gums, oils and fillers. Malk’s creamers will be available in vanilla almond, caramel almond and lightly sweetened oat varieties.
“There aren’t many clean creamer options out there for those looking for a rich, tasty supplement to their coffee, tea, or matcha,” said Jason Bronstad, chief executive officer of Malk. “We have made it our mission to change this by offering simple ingredient creamers that don't sacrifice delicious flavor.”
