Holiday-inspired items make their debut across menus.
Tim Hortons has added three menu items to its holiday menu. The snowman donut features vanilla-flavored icing decorated like a snowman face and sweet cream filling, the holiday sugar dream cookie combines a white chocolate chip sugar cookie with red and green sprinkles, vanilla-flavored icing, peppermint bark crumbles and a miniature gingerbread man cookie, and the holiday chai latte comes in hot or iced formats and in peppermint or gingerbread flavors.
Panera Brands portfolio company Caribou Coffee has launched two beverage additions and two menu items. The drinks include the cranberry dark chocolate espresso shaker, espresso mixed with cranberry, dark chocolate, all shaken with ice and topped with oat milk, and the cranberry energy drink, a sparkling cranberry beverage topped with coconut milk cold foam.
The food items include the eggs benedict sandwich, with Canadian bacon, hollandaise sauce and a cage-free egg on an English muffin, and the chocolate truffle brownie.
“This year, we've seen great success with seasonal offerings,” said Matt Reiter, senior vice president of product and procurement at Caribou Coffee. “Building on that momentum, we’re excited to add cranberry to our popular energy drink and espresso shaker platforms, bringing a quintessential holiday flavor to our menu.”
Baskin-Robbins has debuted its latest flavor innovation: Brie My Guest. The ice cream combines brie and burrata flavored ice cream with almonds, pistachio pieces and apricot swirls.
“Our new flavor of the month is a bold twist on the best parts of a cheeseboard that will delight your guests and spark conversation at the table,” said Jerid Grandinetti, vice president of marketing and culinary at Baskin-Robbins.
Dunkin’ has released the holiday cookie signature latte, the almond croissant and the hash brown brisket scramble bowl as part of its seasonal offerings. The latte features buttery cookie and toasted almond flavor notes from espresso blended whole milk, whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel, and cookie butter crumbles, according to the company.
The croissant is an all-butter croissant filled with almond paste and slivered almonds as a topping, and the bowl combines hash browns, shredded brisket, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, poblano peppers, caramelized onions, seasonings and cheddar queso.
Convenience chain Casey’s is aiming to capitalize on the increased demand for pickle products with its pickle wrap pizza. The offering combines Philadelphia brand whipped cream cheese, chopped ham, bacon, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and thick-cut pickles on top of original or thin crust pizza dough.
“We are always experimenting with ways to serve guests the flavors they crave, test out trending ingredients and explore fresh ideas to add to each slice,” said Tom Brennan, chief merchandising officer at Casey’s. “Our bold, inventive Pickle Wrap Pizza is bringing the people what they want in a way that is distinctly Casey's.”
California Pizza Kitchen has added three limited-time menu innovations. The company’s Blistered Shishito Peppers feature shishito peppers blistered in a hot pan with tamari, garlic, red chili and toasted sesame seeds. The braised short rib ragu includes braised tender short rib on top of pappardelle pasta and house-made ragu. The mini butter cake flight offers the brands’ butter cake varieties in a bite-size format, with flavors such as dark chocolate and brownie crumble, spiced apple and cherries, smoked bacon and maple, and classic butter cake.
“When guests visit CPK this season, they’re getting the gift of craveable, unique dishes that can be shared across the table,” said Paul Pszybylski, vice president of culinary innovation at California Pizza Kitchen.
Bonefish Grill has partnered with Universal Pictures to celebrate the release of “Wicked” with two cocktails inspired by the movie. The Ozmopolitan features Absolut vodka, Malibu rum, cranberry juice, a sour mix and mango, and Oz’s Elixir combines Absolut vodka, Malibu rum, pineapple juice and lime with green apple flavors.
Sonic’s winter menu includes Sonic queso smasher, a smashed Angus patty burger topped with white queso American cheese, tortilla strips, sliced jalapeños, diced onions and a Southwest sauce, and the red velvet cake batter shake, vanilla soft serve blended with red velvet cake batter, cream cheese whipped topping and a cherry. The menu also features the buttery brew beverage, which combines root beer with caramel and sweet cream, and the sparkling sugar cookie Dr Pepper with sweet cream and sugar cookie flavor notes.
