
Manufacturers of ice cream and frozen novelties are expanding their portfolios.
Unilever’s Ben & Jerry's added to its line of ice cream products with a series of sundae offerings. The sundae lineup includes Cookie Vermont-ster, Dulce-Delish, Choco-lotta Cheesecake and Turtle flavors.
Alden's Organic unveiled a line of zero-proof mocktail sorbet bars. The non-alcoholic bars were created in celebration of the company’s 21st anniversary, with such flavors as limoncello, piña colada and margarita.
“We’ve always been committed to using real, high-quality organic ingredients, and this new line pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in frozen treats,” said Joelle Simmons, chief growth officer, Alden’s Organic. “By blending bold, cocktail-inspired flavors with a refreshing, alcohol-free twist, we’re offering a first-of-its-kind indulgence that’s both fun and able to be enjoyed by all."
Dippin’ Dots, a flash-frozen dessert subsidiary of J&J Snack Foods Corp., is entering the retail segment with Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream Sundaes. The product features three tiers of ingredients in each cup: the company’s beaded ice cream dots, cookie pieces, ice cream and a sauce topping. Varieties include cookies and cream and cotton candy.
“Our consumers told us that they are craving innovation that allows them to enjoy the Dippin' Dots brand in their own home," said Lynwood Mallard, chief marketing officer of Dippin’ Dots.
Wells Enterprises and Ferrero North America collaborated on a collection of ice cream candy bars. The bars feature an ice cream interior surrounded by a chocolate coating, with such varieties as Butterfinger, Baby Ruth and 100 Grand bars.
“Fans of Butterfinger, Baby Ruth and 100 Grand are always looking for bold new ways to enjoy their favorites, and these ice cream candy bars deliver indulgence in every bite,” said Neal Finkler, vice president of marketing for the Ferrero Mainstream Chocolate portfolio.
Froneri’s Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream launched the Frollies ice pop brand. Frollies pops are formulated with fruits and fruit juices, containing 60 calories per serving. The frozen novelties come in watermelon, sweet pineapple and strawberry flavors.
JonnyPops, a maker of frozen fruit and cream bars, is exploring a miniature format of its bars with cream minis. The smaller-size treats come in flavors like Neapolitan minis with cream, birthday surprise minis with cream and unicorn minis with cream.
“Our birthday surprise pop is a first-of-its-kind innovation, bringing something truly new to frozen treats,” said Erik Brust, chief executive officer of JonnyPops. “These minis are just the right size for an anytime treat, afternoon snack or a small dessert.”
Häagen-Dazs is tapping into trending summer flavors with the launch of three sorbet varieties. The non-dairy sorbets come in blueberry and lemon, passion fruit and sweet pear, and sweet lemon coconut varieties.
“With the launch of our three new Häagen-Dazs sorbet flavors, we’re celebrating bold fruit flavor pairings and growing our portfolio of delicious, non-dairy sorbets that make every moment feel like summer, no matter the time of year,” said Rachel Jaiven, head of marketing at Häagen-Dazs.
The Wendy’s Co. and Girl Scouts of the USA partnered to on the launch of the Thin Mints Frosty. Inspired by the Girl Scouts cookie, the frosty variety is available in a vanilla or chocolate base and features a swirl of minty cookie crumble sauce.
“By bringing together two iconic fan favorite flavors into a single spoonful, we're delivering an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Frosty experience to connect with our Wendy’s fanbase and Girl Scouts cookie supporters alike,” said Lindsay Radkoski, US chief marketing officer for The Wendy's Co.
Kellanova partnered with Golden West Food Group to create a line of ice cream products.
Inspired by Kellanova’s product portfolio, the line includes five Eggo offerings: buttery maple pint, chocolate chip pint, blueberry pint, buttery maple ice cream sandwich, chocolate chip ice cream sandwich and blueberry ice cream sandwich; and five Rice Krispies Treats products: original ice cream pint, original ice cream sandwich, strawberry ice cream sandwich and triple chocolate ice cream sandwich.
