Introductions include croissant sandwiches and Easter-themed donuts.
Panera Bread has introduced croissant sandwiches to its lunch and dinner menu. The items feature sandwich bread made from croissant dough, and they come in such varieties as Croque Monsieur, with Black Forest ham, provolone cheese, asiago cheese and a caramelized onion and gruyere spread; and Fromage, with caramelized onions, arugula, provolone and American cheeses, and garlic aioli.
Krispy Kreme debuted its Hoppy Easter holiday collection featuring three original offerings. The bunny basket donut is a glazed donut dipped in chocolate icing topped with chocolate flavored buttercream and a confectionery bunny. The marshmallow bunny donut is an unglazed donut with marshmallow-flavored crème filling that is dipped in yellow icing and topped with a bunny face and confectionery ears. The bouncing bunny donut is a glazed donut dipped in blue icing and sprinkles and then topped with a bouncing bunny.
Marco’s Pizza launched its latest addition to its sides menu, pepperoni bread. The product utilizes shredded pepperoni, a layer of three cheeses, and a finishing of garlic sauce and Romesan seasoning.
The Wendy’s Co. is experimenting with its frosty frozen dessert format with two product lines. Frosty swirls feature a sauce addition swirled into traditional frosty flavors, with varieties like strawberry, caramel and brownie batter. Frosty fusions feature a sauce inclusion and mix-ins, such as strawberry-flavored Pop-Tarts Crunchy Poppers pieces, Oreo cookie pieces and toffee pieces.
“We’re expanding on our beloved Frosty so when a sweet tooth strikes, the choice is easy for consumers,” said Lindsay Radkoski, US chief marketing officer for The Wendy’s Co. “We know consumers are always on the lookout for new flavors and ways to customize their order with sauces and mix-ins.”
Chili's Grill & Bar has expanded its value-focused 3 For Me menu with the launch of the Big QP burger. The item is intended to be an alternative to fast food equivalents like McDonald’s quarter pounder with cheese. The Big QP features American cheese, mustard, ketchup, pickles, diced onions and 85% more beef than the quarter pounder, according to the company.
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse has launched the broccoli cheddar Pizookie. The item puts a savory twist on BJ’s traditional dessert Pizookie, substituting a skillet cookie topped with vanilla ice cream for a cheddar and broccoli base topped with mashed potatoes, melted cheddar cheese and broccoli bits.
“We’re always pushing the boundaries of flavor, and this time, we’ve struck gold with an unexpected yet utterly delightful combination,” said Heidi Rogers, senior vice president of marketing at BJ’s Restaurants, Inc.
Jack in the Box aims to appeal to consumers interested in spice with its latest Nashville Hot line. The menu includes Nashville hot popcorn chicken, all-white meat chicken bites coated in the company’s sweet and spicy Nashville hot seasoning, and Nashville hot mozzarella sticks.
