New bars are entering retail markets.
Kellanova is adding to its RXBAR brand with new high protein bars available in strawberry peanut butter and vanilla peanut butter. The gluten-free, plant-based bars feature 18 grams of protein and are formulated with six ingredients. The bars are sweetened with organic agave nectar.
“In our innovation kitchen, every ingredient has to fight for its seat at the table,” said Suzy Singh, a food scientist who worked on the RXBAR High Protein bars. “Pea protein is our texture architect and protein powerhouse. Peanut butter is our flavor hero and binding agent. No ingredient gets a free ride — they all need to have a purpose in creating something that appears simple but performs like nothing else on the market. Eighteen grams of protein have never tasted this delicious.”
Pasta Rummo has added a high protein pasta formulated with two ingredients: Maxima. Maxima pasta offers 21 grams of protein per serving and is formulated with durum wheat semolina and yellow peas.
Anheuser-Busch has collaborated with 1st Phorm and Dana White to debut Phorm Energy, an energy drink that is formulated with green tea, electrolytes, and natural caffeine. The drinks are offered in Screamin’ Freedom, Blue Blitz, Orange Fury and Grape Smash.

Kodiak Cakes is adding trail bars and frozen breakfast sandwiches to its list of offerings. The trails bars offer 7 grams of protein and are formulated with chocolate, nuts, seeds and fruit. The breakfast sandwiches offer 20 grams of protein per sausage and cheddar or bacon and Colby jack sandwich.

Purely Elizabeth has added gluten-free protein oatmeal to its list of offerings. The non-GMO Project verified oatmeal is formulated with 10 grams of plant-based protein per serving, 100% whole grains (oats, quinoa and buckwheat) and is flavored with dried fruit, cinnamon and maple. The vegan oatmeal is offered in apple harvest crumble, cinnamon chip banana bread and maple cinnamon roll.

LesserEvil Snacks is debuting organic cheese puffs formulated with cheddar and avocado oil. Consumers may choose between cowboy cheddar and blazin’ hot cheddar flavors.

Mars, Inc. is releasing grain-filled energy bars under its Kind LLC subsidiary. The bars are formulated with oats, millets, buckwheat, amaranth and quinoa. The bars are available in strawberry banana, pineapple mango, mixed berry and oatmeal drizzle.
Nearly 2,500 companies exhibited at the annual event hosted by the Specialty Food Association.
