Smaller-sized products appeal to growing single or dual household segments, older people and consumers concerned about weight maintenance and health.

Sweet goods packaged in single servings or created in mini or bite-sized formats can help consumers feel less guilty about indulgent items and help control portions, according to Mintel’s recent Prepared Cakes and Pies report. Consumers also expressed interest in sampling variety.
