New introductions feature spicy flavors.
Doritos is launching Doritos Dinamita, a line extension of rolled chips. The spicy line, which will make its commercial debut at Super Bowl LVIII, is available in five flavors:
Ben & Jerry’s launched its first flavor of 2024: Strawberry Cheezecake. The flavor, which is a non-dairy version of its strawberry cheesecake flavor, is the newest flavor to join Ben & Jerry’s non-dairy line. The brand reformulated its non-dairy line in October 2023 with a new oat-based formula.
“We have wanted to feature this one for a while, but this is a case of good things are worth waiting for,” said Colleen Rossell, flavor guru at Ben & Jerry’s. “The new oat base really showcases the ingredients and lets the strawberry ‘cheezecake’ shine through. It is so creamy that people are surprised every time that it’s vegan.”
Truffle brand Truff debuted its newest hot sauce flavor: jalapeño lime. The sauce features a blend of green jalapeño peppers, lime and Truff’s namesake ingredient, black winter truffle.
Country Archer Provisions added a new meat snack line to its portfolio: ancestral beef blend meat sticks. The high-protein meat sticks are formulated from a blend of grass-fed beef, liver and heart meat and are available in original and spicy flavors.
“Considering the rise in demand for organ meats, we set out to create a delicious and nutrient-rich snack specifically for these consumers,” said Eugene Kang, co-founder and chief executive officer of Country Archer Provisions. “Packed with beef liver and heart, low in sugar, and abundant in protein, this meat stick offers a protein-packed punch.”
Frozen treat brand Enlightened expanded its portfolio with the launch of frozen yogurt bark in triple berry, banana peanut butter and pineapple coconut flavors. The yogurt bark, which follows the release of Enlightened’s frozen Greek yogurt bars and pints in 2023, is formulated with Greek yogurt, chocolate and frozen fruit.
“We are thrilled to introduce our Frozen Yogurt Bark to the growing frozen snacking category,” said Michael Shoretz, chief executive officer and founder of Enlightened. “This new line marks our continued commitment to providing exciting new treats that don’t compromise on taste or nutrition.”
Hippeas expanded its line of snacks with the launch of Flavor Blast! Chickpea Puffs in two flavors: vegan white cheddar explosion and blazin’ hot. The snacks feature 3 to 4 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per 1-oz serving.
“Our dedication to perfecting these extra flavor recipes reflects our commitment to surpassing consumer expectations of what a better-for-you product can taste like. Parents (and grown-up snackers) love Hippeas puffs because they are a kid-requested go-to snack made with real, simple ingredients,” said Julia Hecht, chief marketing officer at Hippeas. “Not only are the puffs delicious, but they contain the nutritional benefits of both protein and fiber as well as no artificial colors, flavors, or ingredients of any kind. Plus, these puffs are made from sustainably grown chickpeas, filling our commitment to developing products that are better-for-the-planet.”
General Mills, Inc. brand Yoplait developed a line of high-protein, low-sugar yogurt snacks. Formulated using ultra-filter milk and the company’s traditional yogurt-style fermentation process, Yoplait Protein marks the brand’s highest protein and lowest sugar product to date, according to the company. Flavors include single-serve and 30-oz tub containers, with flavors including vanilla, cherry, peach, mixed berry, strawberry, strawberry banana, strawberry cheesecake and Key lime pie.
