STAMFORD, CONN. — David Tulauskas has been named vice-president and chief sustainability officer for Nestle Waters North America (N.W.N.A.), producer of bottled water brands Poland Spring, Nestle Pure Life, Perrier and S. Pellegrino. He succeeds Nelson Switzer, who left N.W.N.A. last year to join Loop Industries, a technology innovator in sustainable plastic.

In his new role, Mr. Tulauskas will oversee N.W.N.A.’s sustainability operations and be tasked with driving the company forward in its sustainability initiatives as well as continuing to integrate sustainability into N.W.N.A.’s operations and brands. He also will serve as a member of the N.W.N.A. executive team.

“The beverage industry is in a unique position to change how Americans think about recycling, packaging and caring for water and our shared natural resources,” Mr. Tulauskas said. “I’m looking forward to implementing and enhancing N.W.N.A.’s strong legacy of sustainability efforts and collaborating with my peers and stakeholders to find new ways to care for our planet, communities and operations.”

Mr. Tulauskas joins Nestle Waters from General Motors, where he spent the last 27 years in roles ranging from manager of advanced technology and policy to director of state government relations. He was most recently sustainability director for the company.

“I am delighted David is joining the N.W.N.A. team,” said Fernando Mercé, president and chief executive officer of Nestle Waters North America. “His track record for sustainable strategy and planning will be a tremendous asset to help us achieve our environmental, social and governance goals and further our leadership position in the bottled water industry.”
