NEW YORK — Anna Fabrega has been named chief commercialization officer at Freshly Inc., a Nestle-owned fresh-prepared meal delivery service.
The e-commerce veteran joins Freshly from Amazon, where she led the Amazon Go Just Walk Out brick-and-mortar stores and Amazon Kitchen private label fresh foods businesses. Before that she was senior manager of brand strategy at Microsoft and director of brand management at Stripes, a convenience store chain owned by 7-Eleven.
As Freshly’s first CCO, Ms. Fabrega will be tasked with leading the company’s growth and strategic partnership initiatives and building teams across marketing, brand, menu development, customer experience and sales.
“As we continue to scale, we are dedicated to supporting rapid innovation across our meals portfolio, brand and customer base,” said Mike Wystrach, founder and chief executive officer of Freshly. “Anna's years of industry expertise will be a key ingredient in our success.”
The meal delivery service has focused on expanding its healthy eating initiatives following its acquisition by Nestle last year. The company in December launched FreshlyFit, a product line promoting active lifestyles.
“As a working mother of two and someone who's passionate about food, Freshly's mission truly resonates with me,” Ms. Fabrega said. “I strive to eat tasty, healthy food, but rarely have enough time for meal prep during the workweek — plus, the convenience frees up more quality time with my family. I'm excited to join Freshly as we continue to innovate, scale and work to solve similar challenges for customers who are looking for convenient and healthy meal solutions.”
