Food Entrepreneur BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — Five emerging brands were picked to participate in a pitch competition produced by Brandjectory, an online platform dedicated to connecting early-stage consumer products entrepreneurs to investors.

The virtual, two-hour event will be held on Oct. 12 and is free to attend. More than $250,000 in cash and services will be awarded, including a $25,000 cash prize for the winner. Co-hosting the event are Promomash founders Yuval Selik and Alla Korot, with insights and commentary by Luke Abbott, chief executive officer of VDriven Consulting, and entertainment provided by Steve Hoffman, founder of Compass Natural.

Applicants received feedback from investors, and the finalists were offered investor coaching prior to the event, according to Brandjectory. A panel of five investors will determine a winner during the competition. On Oct. 18, investors will have an opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings with each of the finalists.

“These five brands were selected by 18 veteran CPG investors who found them to be ready for the future,” said Michael Movitz, co-founder of Brandjectory.

The second annual Brandjectory Pitch Slam finalists are:

daio, a line of sparkling waters enhanced with functional ingredients, including electrolytes, probiotics and vitamins;

Gruvi, a brand of alcohol-free beers, wines and sangrias;

Pastabilities, a line of dry pasta featuring added protein, fiber and lower-calorie options;

Steeped Coffee, a producer of sustainably packaged single-serve coffee bags; and

The Humble Seed, a maker of grain-free, seed-based crackers.

“Brandjectory has become the gold standard for preparing CPG founders and brands for investment, and last year’s Pitch Slam proves just that,” said Tom Malengo, co-founder of Brandjectory. “Last year’s winner, Olyra, secured a $4 million investment soon after the Pitch Slam.”
