Scott McGinty has been named c.e.o. of Aurora Organic Dairy.
 

BOULDER, COLO. — Scott McGinty has been named chief executive officer of Aurora Organic Dairy. He most recently has been president of the producer and processor of store-brand organic milk and butter since 2010.

Mr. McGinty joined Aurora at its inception to establish product distribution and assumed responsibility for manufacturing and logistics in 2007. He was named president in 2010 and has been on a succession track for several years and assuming duties of c.e.o. over the past 18 months.

He succeeds the company’s founder, Marc Peperzak, who has assumed a new role as executive chairman.

Mr. Peperzak founded Aurora Dairy Corp. in 1976 in Jerome, Idaho, and moved the company’s headquarters to Boulder in 1984. In the early 1990s he co-founded Horizon Organic Dairy. At that time, Aurora began producing organic milk for Horizon. Aurora transitioned to a 100% organic dairy company in 2003. In his new role Mr. Peperzak will work directly with Aurora Organic Dairy’s senior leadership team in an advisory role and will continue to serve as chairman of the board of directors.

Aurora Organic Dairy operates organic dairy, heifer and calf farms in Colorado and Texas, as well as an organic dairy processing plant in Platteville, Colo. The company plans to open a second milk plant in Columbia, Mo., in early 2019.
