KANSAS CITY — Consumers can now sip their Snickers bars and eat their Sour Patch Kids in a bowl with milk in the morning, thanks to new partnerships between candy brands and manufacturers of coffee creamers and cereals.
Nestle S.A. and Mars, Inc. have teamed up to introduce Coffee Mate Snickers and Dove Dark Chocolate Almond flavored creamers. Available in 32-oz bottles, the coffee creamers feature “fan-favorite flavors from the candy aisle,” Nestle said.
“The new Coffee Mate Snickers and Dove Dark Chocolate Almond flavored creamers bring two things people love together — coffee and candy — to make morning coffee anything but the mundane,” said Jason Merideth, marketing director for Coffee Mate. “Coffee Mate is constantly focused on delivering innovative flavors that turn the coffee you like into coffee you love, and we’ve been thrilled to see rave reviews and excitement for these new flavors.”
Post Holdings, Inc. has partnered with Mondelez International, Inc. to launch Sour Patch Kids Flavored Cereal, inspired by the chewy sour candy. The cereal is made up of colorful Sour Patch Kid-shaped pieces with a sour coating and a sweet finish, Post said.
“We are excited to introduce fans to a new first-of-its-kind cereal, one that they never dreamed was possible,” said Roxanne Bernstein, chief marketing officer for Post Consumer Brands. “Post Sour Patch Kids flavored cereal brings the sour then sweet taste of the beloved candy brand right to the cereal bowl. Fans have been curious about this new cereal, and we can’t wait for them to learn how delicious the cereal is both straight out of the box and with milk.”
The Kellogg Co. has joined forces with Just Born Quality Confections to introduce Peeps cereal. The limited-edition variety features colorful marshmallow-flavored cereal pieces mixed with miniature marshmallows.
Peeps pop up again in new International Delight Peeps flavored coffee creamer. The Danone S.A. brand partnered with Just Born to develop the creamer, which features the sweet marshmallow taste of Peeps candy and is available in 32-oz bottles.
